Pécel is only 33 kilometres from Budapest. The local Baroque castle of peculiar atmosphere was a meeting place of scientists and writers. The members of the Ráday family emerged from the nobility of their age as patrons and creators of art. Gedeon Ráday enlarged the family library systematically and took up the cause and popularised literary and artistic life. His book collection of about twelve thousand volumes included the most excellent works of all branches of science, classical basic readings and the literature of the French Enlightenment. The architecture of the palace of Pécel bears the stylistic mark of the palace of Gödöllő. The fabulous wall paintings of the ceremonial hall were done by Gedeon Ráday who used Bernard Picart’s copperplates.

Following World War II, the palace was renovated according to Antal Thomas’s plans between 1953 and 1956, and then it worked as a hospital until 1997. Today, castle is open for visitors.

Egerszalók is an open-air spa and village located in Heves County in northeastern Hungary. The springs yield 68 °C, mineral water from an aquifer located under the volcanic Mátra Mountains.

Noszvaj Cave Dwellings are a locally protected architectural monument in Egra-Bükkalja, on the southeastern edge of Noszvaj in Heves County. A group of cave dwellings carved into the surface rhyolite tufa of volcanic origin is assumed to have been created in the 19th century.

In the 16th century, the first cellars and cave dwellings appeared, storehouses for crops, which over time. Following the architectural tradition of the region, it became multi-part dwellings with white-painted facades, even with stone porches. In 1958, about seventy families still lived in cave dwellings. However, in the second half of the 20th century, the inhabitants gradually abandoned the cave dwellings.

Under the leadership of the sculptors Péter Baláz and Ottó Horváth and in cooperation with a group of artists have founded the Farkaskő Art Center. Then the excavation, recycling, and further development of the dwellings began, which sometimes held art colonies, and tourists can visit this complex every day.
